Thank you for adopting a family this Christmas. This guide walks you through choosing, packing, labeling, and delivering your gifts.

What types of gifts should I give?

• All gifts must be new. Spend about $100 per child as the total value of all gifts. You may give one large or several smaller gifts, but plan to spend the same amount per child in each family.
• Include a helmet with any bicycle, scooter, skateboard, or skates. (Child height is provided to help with bike sizing.)
• Family gifts such as grocery store gift cards are appreciated.
• Recommended tablets include the Amazon Fire 7 (about $60) or Fire HD 8 (about $100).
• Include gift receipts for clothing and shoes.
• Do not wrap gifts, but you may include wrapping paper and tape with the donation.

How should I pack and label gifts?

• Each family has a four-digit family number (for example, 2038). Each child has a six-digit number (for example, 2038-01).
• Label every gift, including bikes and helmets, with the child's six-digit number.
• Place all gifts for one family together in one or more large black garbage bags labeled with the family number.
• Do not mix families or bring incomplete bags.
• Cards or notes are welcome - please use first names only.
• Attach gift receipts for clothing and shoes to the appropriate item.

What should I know about gift cards?

• Activate all gift cards and include the purchase receipt if available.
• Place each gift card in a letter-size envelope labeled with the family number, child number, card type, and dollar value.
• Do not place envelopes inside the gift bags. Instead, hand them directly to a Hope for the Holidays team member when delivering your gifts.

Can I donate a bike?

• Yes. Bikes may be delivered unassembled in boxes. Label both the bike and helmet with the family and child numbers.

When can I deliver gifts?

• Preferred delivery dates are December 1-8, 2026.
• If you need to deliver before December 1, please contact us at outreach@freedom-community.org (phone number coming soon).
• Delivery hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m..

Where do I deliver gifts?

• MentorSports Gymnasium, 6924 Commercial Dr., Morrow, GA 30260.
• Look for the Hope for the Holidays signs and enter through the "Donors" door.
• Assistance is available if you need help unloading or delivering gifts.

What happens when I arrive?

• A MentorSports Holiday Team member will record the number of bags, bikes, and gift cards for each family.
• Please allow a few minutes to complete check-in.
• Ask for a receipt if you would like one for tax purposes.
